WELMEC is the European cooperation in the field of legal metrology. Its Members are
representative national authorities responsible for legal metrology in European Union
and European Free Trade Association (EFTA) member States.
WELMEC
Working Group 6 helps to harmonize the interpretation of legislation that
deals with e-marked prepackages. It also supports OIML
and the European Commission.
To
facilitate the free movement of goods, the countries in the
European common market (EU and EEA) agreed in 1975 and 1976 on
common rules for prepackages.
